Got Through a Scary Medical Procedure

Donuts Helped

I’m back! I took a few days off of blogging because I do this for fun, but I’d felt a bit overwhelmed this past week. I was stressed and feeling anxiety about my LEEP procedure on Friday, but turns out, it was a piece of cake (followed by real post-surgery sugaryness).

Here are my thoughts on the experience and a photo recap of the weekend.

A Running-Filled Weekend!

My Highest Weekly Mileage

Happy Monday…?

I am feeling a little groggy this morning, and my body feels a bit sore. This past week totaled 29.5 miles, the most I’ve ever logged in a week!

Here’s a recap, and also a look at a post-long run Wash Park picnic gorge-fest.

10 Miles, Vacation Day, & Sunday Meal Prep

10 Miles at the Highline Canal near Cherry Hills Village, Denver, CO

So. Many. Things.

And so much fun.

This weekend was an outstanding one—other than a long run on the schedule and Nick’s flight to Philly on Sunday, we had nothing else planned and let everything unfold naturally.

The result was: seeing a great movie, starting a new tradition called Vacation Day, “beer school,” and so much meal prep and productivity on Sunday that my head might’ve fallen off (in a good way, I think).

Brace yourself for the longest post ever and 10,000 pictures!

A Weekend Chock-Full of New Things

Eat to Run to Eat, running, half marathon training, fitness and food blog

Running & Eating & Reading, Oh My!

Happy Monday, friends!

I know what you’re thinking: new things, Vanessa? running, eating, reading? That’s basically all you do. And you’re right, but this past weekend was dedicated to mixing things up when it comes to half marathon training, upping my mileage, meal prepping, and eating well.

Here’s a plethora of weekend snapshots that won’t look like my same old photo updates.

Finding Balance After a Hectic Month

IMG_4268.JPG

Regroup & Recharge

The past four weeks have been a little topsy turvy. I jumped into a last-minute four-person show, had my parents in town, met some lofty goals at work… and while those accomplishments feel great, other things fell by the wayside. Mainly: my feeling of equilibrium.

This past weekend, although it was the closing of Love/Perfect, I made some crucial decisions that should help me regain my footing.

Weekend Snapshots

Run Rest Eat Repeat.jpg

LOTS OF REST

Last week was a doozy. It took a weird toll on me, a toll I’m not entirely sure I know the full details of. On Saturday I woke up feeling either like I was getting sick or depressed or both, and all I wanted to do was take naps and eat food. So besides a long run on Sunday morning, that’s really about all I did this past weekend.

Taking a Stand

The Women’s March on Denver was (and is) a peaceful but powerful statement to the nation—and to the new president and administration—that people of all genders, races, communities, and backgrounds deserve respect and equal treatment.

Here, a photo recap along with my thoughts on the subject.

This Post is Not Sponsored by Cosmo’s Pizza!

(SURPRISINGLY!)

This weekend was a true lesson in balance and moderation (in moderation). My equation goes a little something like this: exercise, gluttony, sloth, repeat! I like it that way and highly recommend it. And, apparently, our weekend was Cosmo’s Pizza-Themed. Duh.
