Blissful in Crested Butte: Part 2

1 MEAL, 3 RESTAURANTS

Because why not?

I feel quite lucky that the man appreciates a good post-run meal as much as I do.

After our 5 miles on the trail, we decided to visit not just one but three of The Old Town Inn’s recommended spots.

THE DOGWOOD

Nestled behind the shops of Elk Avenue is this gem of a cocktail cabin. Originally built in 1891, The Dogwood‘s structure is dark, rustic, and cozy in all the right ways.

The drink menu sealed the deal.

We sat in the corner near the shelf full of board games!

After much deliberation, we finally ordered the Vanilla Bean and Thor’s Hammer. They were both dynamite, but the Vanilla Bean was out-of-this-world delicious.

Happy with our choices. On to the next stop!

GINGER CAFE

With a spring in our step, we hopped on over to Ginger Cafe for some Indian/Thai deliciousness. This time we’d opt for two “small” veggie dishes to split:

The Veggie Spring Rolls (with a peanut sauce) and the Thai Lavash (with shrimp!). The lavash in particular hit the spot.

[Like a giant dork, I had to grab a photo of these metal chopsticks, since I’d never seen them before!]

Stuffed and happy… but with vacation indulgence in mind, we grabbed some sugary treats from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory across the street.

Yep, that’s right. Peanut Butter Fudge ice cream, dark-chocolate covered pretzel and sea-salt caramel, all accompanied by a giant dark chocolate-covered peanut butter BUCKET (not a cup). We threw in a Hershey’s kiss, for good measure, because vacation.

Not bad for a travel day and  the first day exploring a new town. Winninggggg.

WHICH TREAT LOOKS THE BEST TO YOU?
